Don Coleman Tribute Page

You know, sometimes people are most noticeable by their quiet demeanor.  Don was one of these guys.  He joined our club and came to the meetings in the early days.  At the first "Grapple at Gateway" he was one of two local TR's in the 12's.  As was his style, he claimed, "I was just following the formula."  When I was having trouble with my 455 Skylark, he calmly asked, "Do you have anything against Quadrajets?"  And then added, "I've gotten 15 mpg on the highway with my 12 second Stage 1."

How could you not like the guy?  Well, except for the fact that you had to coax out of him how he beat up on the local Chevy guys with his Wildcat engined Skylark.  He had to instruct the salesman how to order the car in 1963.   In short, in my mind, Don was the original Buick Performance person!

Don, we wish you the best in heaven because you deserve it!

PS, the color scheme was chosen because Don's TR was white with a red interior.
